We cannot talk about youth culture and community development without mentioning Grace Ladoja. It’d be simply dishonest to do so.
Grace has spent her whole life connecting cultures and finding ways to bring together her network and a deep understanding of youths to launch brands and careers with a unique point of view.
Grace Ladoja is the daughter of a former Oyo State Governor – Rashidi Ladoja. Her work covers fashion, music, art, and street culture. She has worked with brands like Vans, Thrasher, Samsung, Cottweiler, and many others.
As Skepta’s creative director, Grace Ladoja is doing a good job. Driven by the opportunity to put Africa on a pedestal, Grace, Skepta, and Greatness, Dex debuted Homecoming in Lagos Nigeria in 2018. Homecoming is a festival that partially rewrites the story of the West African diaspora in the most inclusive way possible.
In 2017, she received the Music Week Rising Star Award. She also received an MBE award from the Prince of Wales in November 2018. MBE means Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire. An MBE is an award given by the Queen Of England to an individual for outstanding service to the community.
Grace believes that Africa has a unique voice. She also believes that the main action we need to take as Nigerians is making sure we push the right message of people who have pioneered things and done the groundwork in ensuring Nigeria becomes a better country.
